How to Apply Hotfix Rhinestones on Fabric
Hotfix rhinestones have a heat-activated glue on the back, so applying them is mostly about the right heat, time and pressure. This guide covers the essentials for fabric and garments.
What You Need
- Hotfix rhinestones (glass, crystal or Korean stone)
- A heat press or household iron
- A Teflon sheet or parchment paper
- Your fabric or garment, pre-washed and flat
Settings
Use about 160 to 180 C (320 to 356 F), medium pressure, and press for 8 to 15 seconds. Test on a scrap first, because delicate fabrics need lower heat.
Step by Step
- Place stones face-up on the fabric in your design
- Cover with a Teflon sheet
- Press with even pressure for the set time
- Let it cool before peeling or handling
Wash Care
Turn garments inside out, wash gentle in cold or warm water, no bleach, and air dry when possible. Properly pressed stones last 30 to 50 washes.
