Rhinestone Paper vs Transfer Film: Which to Choose

Rhinestone Paper vs Transfer Film: Which to Choose

“Rhinestone paper” and “transfer film” usually refer to the same clear PET film with a light adhesive that holds loose stones while you build a design. The naming differs by region and use.

Are They the Same?

In most cases yes – both are hotfix transfer film. The difference is in width and roll length: craft users say “paper” (small rolls), production users say “film” (wide 40 or 48 cm rolls, 100 yards).

How to Choose

  • 24 cm width: small crafts and samples
  • 40 or 48 cm width: garments and production runs
  • 100-yard rolls: best value for repeat use

Pair It With Templates

For repeated designs, use reusable flock templates with the film to place stones fast and consistently. See our rhinestone templates.

Shop the film: rhinestone paper. Need loose stones? Hotfix rhinestones.
